Elaine Young
My vocational journey has included parenthood, youth work, nursing, social work, counselling and organisational management, providing a wide range of opportunity to explore responses to the ups and downs of life. My interest in Hatha yoga began in the 1970s, and I returned to yoga with renewed interest and commitment each time I realised that a busy life had pulled me away.
An introduction to Mindfulness Meditation in the early 90s planted another seed, which grew slowly and sporadically and started to bear fruit when I began to nurture and cultivate it with regular practice.
In 2009, having spent some time travelling, studying and consolidating my own yoga and meditation practice, I enrolled at Bangor University and set up Living Mindfully as a way of offering mindfulness for the benefit of others. I continue to practice and learn, as I enjoy the process of our organisation unfolding, moment by moment.
