Living mindfully reference group
Quality Standards
Living Mindfully values the views and ideas of the people who use its services. We reflect regularly upon all aspects of the services we provide and measure them against performance standards that we set for ourselves. This ensures that our services are sensitive to our clients needs and provide good value for money as well as meeting good practice guidelines.
In addition to measuring our own performance, we ask participants to evaluate all courses and sessions as we run them, and feed these comments into our reviews, constantly learning from experience and improving what we offer.
Reference Group
In the interest of maintaining and improving standards and services, we have also established a small “reference group”, made up of people who have experienced our services as participants, and have continued to practice mindfulness, and some who have also referred others to Living Mindfully in a professional capacity.
The group has an annual membership, so that no-one feels tied to commit longer term, and to encourage a range of perspectives from experienced mindfulness meditators and those who have come to it more recently.
We look to the reference group for comments on proposed new services, new programmes, changes and developments on our website, and consult with them collectively through email and questionnaire. Occasionally, we consult with one or other of the group on matters of specific expertise or interest, such as the design of a leaflet or a new form, or a policy matter.
At present, our group consists of the following members:
Jonathan Pearce
Steve Day
Phil Beaumont
Jo Wallis
Helen Braine
Mike Sekowski
Karen Newbould
Jan Morris
The members of this group do not have access to any confidential or personal information about anyone receiving services from Living Mindfully, and we do not discuss individual participants or incidents with this group.
